“Being disabled isn’t an excuse” said 14-year old Jerome Nelmida, a visually- impaired athlete who trained for Manila Dragons together with his twin brother, Joshua. It was a fun Saturday morning when the twins surprised the team. Guided by Eric Tinio (team-captain), Tita Edith Esguerra (co-paddler and breast cancer survivor) and members, they ran and did physical exercises (pull-ups, push ups, jumping jacks).

After sweating, Coach Augusto Dequilla let them stay and tried paddling. Despite the fact that they can’t see, they were able to follow the correct pace and steps.

With their determination and positive outlook towards sports, they are an inspiration for the team!
